Apple Stops Selling iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 in Germany Amid Qualcomm Battle

The Apple and Qualcomm legal battle took a new turn, this time with Apple taking the loss. After Qualcomm won a court ruling in Germany, Apple has been forced to pull two iPhone models from its stores.

Apple has stopped selling the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 from its website and in stores in Germany. The move comes after Qualcomm won a similar ruling in China, but Apple never stopped selling any iPhone models there. Qualcomm was required by the German court to post €1.34 billion in bonds to enact the ban, which it did.

A look at Apple’s website in Germany shows it now only sells the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR ,with the iPhone 7 and 8 nowhere to be found. Apple has already made clear it will appeal the ruling, but for the time being, it can’t sell its two most affordable iPhone models.

With the legal battle between Apple and Qualcomm escalating, it looks as if it has no end in sight. The next step is seeing if Qualcomm wins any more court rulings in other countries.
